Since the year 2006 the “Polonicum” Centre has published its “Kwartalnik Polonicum”, an interdisciplinary quarterly addressed to wide readership. Its target readers are, above all, foreigners studying in Poland and those who wish to take up studies here. The magazine can be found in the Polish Institutes of Culture, departments of Polish and Slavic Studies, Polish schools abroad and libraries worldwide. The first pages of each issue are filled by hand-picked contributors: eminent scholars of the Humanities, whose articles are published in the Polish- and English-language versions. The later section, dubbed “the home pages” by the editing staff, contains shorter and linguistically easier texts by the staff and co-operators of the “Polonicum”. The readers will find there explications of linguistic problems and articles on culture and literature, which can be read with the aid of the Polish-English glossaries provided. Each issue contains an interview with a university professor or someone related to the world of culture and science. Foreign centres related to Polish issues are presented.
The “Kwartalnik” Council: Prof. Elżbieta Sękowska (Institute of the Polish Language, Dept. of Polish Studies), Prof. Andrzej Zieniewicz (Institute of Literature, Dept. of Polish Studies), Prof Grażyna Zarzycka (University of Lódź), Prof. Jolanta Ignatowicz-Skowrońska (University of Szczecin). Editor-in-chief: Piotr Garncarek, PhD; vice Editor-in-chef: Aleksanfra Święcka, PhD; Editorial Board Secretary: Anna Mazurkiewicz, PhD; Member of Editorial Board: Anna Rabczuk, PhD.
